Snake in the Grass

This is a snake that I bought from Acorns by Oaks and painted it to kind of look like a diamond back. Ron made the glass case to keep him safe. I put him hiding in the grass.

The Brass Steampunk is done. I think this could be any kind of a shop and it has large front windows to show off anything that is put into the shop.

Inside is done.

The inside is done, except to set the front door in and that will always be able to come out, as this way and lifting off the roof is how you will get into the shop. It's very easy to get your hand in to put items on the shelves.

The corner stones and one side of the brick are on. We make our own brick and stone, piece by piece and it's put on the building one brick at a time. This has taken a while but it's coming along. Once all the brick is done, I age it and put on all the "old" touches. I really think that this looks more like real birck than anything else.

This photo shows the lights that Ron put in between the wooden shelves. You can change the color on them.

Shelves are in the Steampunk building and the brass is on. I have no wallpaper behind the shelves as I thought it would detract from what would be put on the shelves. I never know what the new owner of the building will use it for.

The floor is done in the Steampunk. We did it all in dark gold and dark red tiles that seemed to take me forever to paint and Deft. I have Ron cut them out of hardwood.

Steampunk

We have the Steampunk shop started. I'm even working on the tiles for the floor. Tiles take so long to make, but I always think they make the room. These will be square tiles in a gold and dark red to go with the paper, I think I'm going to use. We start out with a hard wood and then lots of paint and lots of coats of Deft.

I'm going to put two photos of the shop on today. Photo number one is the start and number two is what we added after we looked and talked about what we "think" will be the final out come of it.

Trying to Figure This Out

Mmmm--you can see that I don't know what I'm doing here. I was trying to add to the first blog that I haven't done in a long time. Now I have two of the Steampunk. Well maybe this shows how much I like it!

I love Steampunk! We have done one building in Steampunk and are now getting ready to do another one that we hope to have ready for the NAME National. It takes time to plan these buildings. We generally have an idea and then just start on a building, but not with Steampunk. I will do my best to write here about the building of this one.
